3 Must-Have Tools To Boost Your Twitter Follow Count

// oktober 22nd, 2009 // Social Networking

Every blogger tweets. At least, every blogger that takes him or herself serious. There are a lot of (semi-)automated tools that promise you a lot of followers within five minutes. What I’ve learned in the past month blogging/twitting is that these kind of tools aren’t appreciated by most Twitter-users.

Nobody Likes A Spammer

After one week of using Twitter I built up a network of approximately 200 real followers. After a Google on the phrase “Increase Twitter Followers” I found a simple form that promised me 1000 followers within five minutes. All I had to do was sign up and send out ten @replies. It worked! Quickly my followcount was sky high, filled with spam accounts. About an hour later my real followers must’ve noticed my spammy @replies, they mass unfollowed me. I was left with 1000 spamaccounts.

Lesson learned: DON’T fall for this.

If you want to build a network of followers, targeted to your niche, quickly. It is possible, but it won’t be done in five minutes. With the tools described below you’ll be able to build a great network of targeted followers and connect with them, with minimum effort.

  1. First of all, you should download TweetDeck: a very useful desktop client for twitter, functioning much like the well known IM-clients out there. With TweetDeck it’s easy to stay connected with your growing network of followers. And best of all, it’s free!
  2. Then, to semi-automate the grow of your network, login to Buzzom with your Twitter-account: this online tool consists of three great functions: Flush, Grow and Reciprocate. The idea is simple: follow masses of people by entering keywords related to your niche – grow. Take a time limit, i.e. two days. After your time limit has passed, unfollow everybody that didn’t follow you back – flush. And every once in a while reciprocate: follow everybody who is following you. You’ll see your twitter network going through the roof!
  3. If you want all of the above, but even better, TweetAdder is the tool you’re looking for. This desktop client does everything Buzzom does, but fully automated. You just enter the keywords related to your niche and the software does the rest. It follows new people daily and unfollows people that didn’t follow you back after a time limit you set. It also automatically unfollows people that unfollow you! It supports multiple accounts and besides that you can schedule your tweets and create automated tweets. Click here and order TweetAdder for only $ 55,- or take the 7-day FREE trial!

I hope you found my list helpful. If you have any suggestions or know any other tools to increase your followers count, leave a comment AND follow me on Twitter! ;)

Good Luck!

  1. Wow, I didn’t realise the follow/unfollow process had become so automated. I’m very torn about whether I want to use such a program or not. I already have a hard enough time keeping up with the people who’s tweets I really care about. There are a lot of people who’s tweets i just overlook.

    I’m also not sure how targeted the followers are. I would rather 1000 targeted followers than 10,000 random ones.

    I’m going to check out tweet deck. I’d rather a program than using a browser. :-)

    True, that’s why you can use keywords. To be sure that the followers that’re automatically added are targeted to your niche.

  2. I’ve been using other tools but I’m going to try Buzzom today. Thanks for the tip!

    Ok Im guilty with this. I used to use the mass follow autto follow thing but Im the first one who would say its not worth it. Its like having a gazillion list of followers who were totally not interactive..
