My Writings. My Thoughts.

Key to making money online: Find your passion.

// februari 12th, 2010 // No Comments » // Uncategorized

Wow, it sure has been a long time since I’ve been writing on WhenIgetrich.com. I feel like I owe you guys an apology. So here it is, I’m sorry.

Here’s my story. Around november me and my fiancé moved into another house. In the meanwhile of moving I slowed everything down by breaking my (right) hand and getting the Mexican Flu. So it took me a while to get back on my feet.

I’ve had great holidays, we went to my in-laws for two weeks. Had a great party there! I hope you had a great time too!

Anyway, having all this time of change made me realize loads of things. A new house, a new year and soon a new job, it gets you thinking you know. And I started thinking about my dreams and wishes. And I realized that WhenIgetrich.com isn’t what I want. Blogging IS, but writing on how to make money online isn’t what I want. And this is a tip to all of you beginning bloggers: find your passion.

Those things you truly care about, things that make you drift away while your in an intense conversation with your mother in law. Those are the things that you will be able to write about forever.

So here it is, my final thought on this blog’s subject:

Your passion will make you unique. Your passion will make you arise above the others and eventually will make you make money online.

I’ve found mine, I’ve moved on to MyDigitalDomicile.com – a blog on how to digify your home. Because that’s why I do when I have the chance! I digify everything: from movement sensor trashcans to wireless networks and connected Home Theatres! You’ll be reading all about my trials and tribulations, soon at MyDigitalDomicile.com.

Kind regards,

Daan.

WooThemes - Quality Themes, Great SupportAs you probably noticed; WhenIgetrich.com has had a complete makeover. Of course, I hope you like it. I, for one, am very proud. Why? Because I’ve made it all by myself and I barely know PHP or CSS!  My knowledge goes as far as i.e. changing the colors of borders, or place something in the center. Because I’ve previously owned other website, I do know some HTML. So with this knowledge – which isn’t that much – I’ve still managed to make a pretty cool design. How? Here’s how! Continue Reading

// oktober 16th, 2009 // 10 Comments » // Successful Blogging, Writing

What's so interesting there?Bloggers are big fans of list posts. One reason why everybody does it, is because they’re easy to go viral. Readers love lists, because it’s easy to read, easy to remember and easy to share. Even though it’s very advisable to post a list regularly, you shouldn’t overdo it. A regular post with a storyline can also be very enjoyable and interesting. I think you all agree if I say that all articles on your blog should be of outstanding quality, not only the lists. That’s why I’ve composed a list – Ha! The irony! – with ten criteria you should keep in mind while writing your article: Continue Reading

// oktober 9th, 2009 // 4 Comments » // Successful Blogging

The nightmare of every blogger is writersblock. Can you imagine you don’t have a clue what to write about?

Especially for this occasion I introduced the category ‘Mumbo Jumbo’ to my blog – a place where I can free my head of various ramblings.

Another interesting approach to solving this problem is the ‘cross-dressing’-technique. As described in a recent post from James Chartrand @ Copyblogger.net. Continue Reading

There were lines you couldn’t cross, there were rules you had to follow and besides that, you had to pay according to the advertising model you picked. There was a certain control. Since the introduction of the www and media such as YouTube, these lines and rules are slowly disappearing. Continue Reading
